Monthly Charm Swap

This Group will swap charms monthly.

No matter the size of the Group, you will make 3 charms and receive 3 charms each month. Your charms need to be sent to Lia no later than the 25th day of each month. This is to ensure that they are received for distribution by the last day of the month. I will send the charms out to everyone by the 5th day of the following month.

Note:

Each charm should have at least 10 charms/dangles with some type of clasp (TH swivel, lobster etc).

Each charm must be presented on a nice presentation so the the recipient knows who it was created by.

I would like to start giving a special charm to our sisters for their birthdays. This is optional but if you choose to please make a special charm in addition to the 3 that you must do each month. Make sure that you identify who the charm is for and if we have multiple birthdays you can choose to make one for each of the ladies or just one person....your choice

Day 3 of Scrap Dymonz 4th of July Blog Hop

Back again for day three of the Scrap Dymonz 4-day Fourth of July Weekend Blog Hop! Today's hop starts at Lia's blog and ends at Terry's. Our fourth and final day of the hop is tomorrow and we have some very special things planned. Be sure to work your way from beginning to end for all days of the hop -- you will need information from each blog in order to have the chance to win the final day's blog candy on Stampin' Dymonz's blog. My project for today are hand made flowers using the water and scrunch technique.

Material needed:
Punched flowers in at least 3 different sizes
spray bottle with water
brad
stickles (if you like)
glimmer mist (if you like)
heat gun
paper piercer

Layer at least 3 each of the different sizes together and secure with a brad in the center. Wet the petals ( you will have to wet each layer as you go. Bring the first layer up and scrunch around the brad repeat with all layes until you have a little bud. Carefully start opening your flower with a piercer once you have the layers opened dry with your heating tool and decorate as you wish!

Day 2 of Scrap Dymonz 4th of July Blog Hop

For my second project I've created the ever so famous TP Mini with a matching charm!

Material Needed:

TP Rolls (ironed flat)
CS
Designer Paper
Stamps
Ribbon

Wrap each TP roll with designer paper and glue in place. Add whatever binding method that you like, for this one I used a simple hinge for the binding. Decorate as you wish. Remember to become a follower and leave a comment and these items that are being created for the 4th could be yours as I will be give them all away to one lucky winner. Don't forget to show some love on the other blogs that are participating in this blog hop!!

Scrap Dymonz 4th of July Blog Hop

Welcome to the Scrap Dymonz Fourth of July Weekend Blog Hop! We will be holding our hop over the entire 4th of July weekend -- July 1st through 4th -- with new projects posted each day. Recipe:

Pringle can cut down to size ( you can use anything like small cans, hair spray tops etc)
Fabric
Lace, ribbon, cord or whatever you like
Felt
Glass pebbles
Fiber fill
Rubber band
Hot Glue Gun

Hot glue the pebbles into the bottom of the can
Fill your fabric with fiber fill and secure with rubber band, cut off excess
Fit into place and hot glue down, making sure you glue the bottom first.
Add lace and embellish as you wish. I've added some stick pins that are also in celebrations of the 4th of July. Hope you all will give this a try!!

PT2 - It's coming along nicely!

Hey all!! I'm working on something and wanted to share the beginning of something great. I've wanted to make a mini book that looks like a vintage camera for awhile and at the time no one in the scrap world had created this....well before I could even start one I was on the Scrapbeach Ning site and saw ButterbeesScraps created one!!! What that can't be...lol. Well if you haven't seen it check it out on youtube. Well I didn't give up my dream and here's the start to something great!! I made the bellows from canvas. I will share more pictures as I complete this little treasure...enjoy.

Here's a look from the front...I've cleaned it up a bit since this picture was taken..and the bellows really move like the real thing!!

Bellows are meant to keep light out when a photo is taken so I had to paint them black!! I used the Tim Holtz black acrylic paint dabber to paint the canvas. Stay tune more to come!

Altered Dress form

Have you all seen these little dress forms at M's??? They are so cute and easy to alter!! I made this one as a Thank You gift.....her favorite color is pink so I did this one up in pink and black. I even took out my sewing machine and made a little black dress, do you all remember making doll clothes??? I hand drew the vines and painted them and added the paper roses...nice touch huh? The large pink flower is also handmade. Then I loaded her up with sequins and pearls. Well head to your nearest M's and grab one of these girls and see what you can do....have fun!

More Organization and a Tag

Well I'm still working on my room doing some organizing! My wonderful hubby put up a rod system to hold all my Martha Stewart punches.

I've also cleaned up my ribbon gutters...because someone asked what was holding them up and I couldn't show a close up of my mangled mess..lol. So here's a picture of the system and a close-up of the gutter clap that is bolted to the wall so the gutter just sits right in.

So I'm guessing you all want to know what I've created.....well I've only completed my tags for my charms that I did for a swap over at the Scrap Beach and that's it for this weekend. :)

But there will be more to come! Happy scrappin.

Flea Market Finds

Today was beautiful here in the south so what better way to spend the day than walking through a Flea Market! Didn't really find much but that's the fun part hunting the things you are looking for and some that you're not...well here's what I found.

These are old thread spools that I will find something to use them with. So don't be afraid to dig around an antique store at your local flea market....you never know what's under the next box of stuff..:)

Wow it's been awhile since I posted on my blog but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy!! I've been creating a lot of things but haven't gotten around to posting them but I will put them in a slide show. I've found so many new loves....swivel clasp charms OMG!! I love these and I found the perfect little dress form to display them on so stay tune for pictures. Also, my wonderful hubby re-did my scraproom so I be adding a slide show of my new room! "Family Time" Mini Tin/Book

Here's a mini titled "Family Time" that I'm in the process of completing for a swap over on the Cricut Message Board. I've used on of the tin cans that prima flowers come in. I've used the rusting technique to make the can look old and vintage and then added some pretties on top. Remembering Somer Thompson

The pictures above is the layout that I created to go into a mini scrapbook for Somer's mom Diena. A call went out on youtube for anyone that would like to create a page for a mini album to celebrate Somer's upcoming birthday which is April 5th. This will be the first birthday that her family will celebrate without her, she had a twin brother. I'm sure many of you have heard the tragedy behind this story but today lets celebrate Somer's life.

Distressed/Antiqued Mini Swap

Here's a sneak peak at my mini for the Distressed/Antiqued Mini swap over on the Cricut MB. My swap partner will be celebrating her 10 year anniversary and she wanted a book to put pictures of her and her husband, I hope I did them justice in this one.
A little about the cover: The flowers are handmade using the layering and water technique. The letters are done using Marion's puff paint and utee technique ( you can find her on youtube at APieceofCraftdotcom).. More pictures will follow when the swap is complete.

As promised pictures of the inside of my mini. I put a lot of frames in this one because my swap partner will be celebrating her 10th wedding anniversary. I sent her some sxtra goodies becasue if I would have put one more thing in this book it would have exploded!! LOL

Mini Purse Album

Here another mini that I just completed for Glue Scissor Paper DT Challenge. Make sure you check out the blog for the other awesome creations!

This is one of the $1 chipboard albums from M's which I only used 2 of the pieces. I drew the pattern on my card stock and cut it out and glued it to the chipboard. (for the bottom I just cut a strip of chipboard). I created the lollipop from from some silk like material and curled the edges with a lighter then glimmer misted and added the feathers. The latch was made from a strip of black card stock and covered with UTEE. Added the pearls and the pearl charm that came from M's. The latch is held down with some magnets from basicgrey (they are strong!). Hope you all like it.......comments are welcomed.

I'm Addicted to .........Mini's

Here's another mini I did for Valentine's Day. This was so much fun to make. I've learned to go shopping in my scraproom before I sit down to make my mini's! I put all the things that will go into the book in a basket so that everything is right there. Well here goes pictures of my heart mini cut using my cricut. "LOVE" Mini Album

Valentine is right around the corner so I've been busy creating this mini paperbag album which will grace pictures of me and my hubby! I had so much fun making this little book but boy it was alot of work! Hope you all like it as much as I do.

Go-Green .....GSP Challenge

Our challenge over at GSP was to make any item of 50% recycled material well I think I did about 95% on this one. First I created the pages with plastic bags. I made them by cutting the front part with the store logo off . You will also have to cut the handles and the bottom seam off. This will give you a long piece of plastic which you will need to fold to a 5x7, I also used two bags per sheet so they we're thicker . Place them under some craft paper and melt them together with the iron, make sure you keep the iron moving. Cut the sheets down to an equal size. I then used Tim Holtz alcohol inks to color the pages.......oh so pretty.

For the album I took a box from the many scrapbook orders I receive........lol. I used one of the sides that already had a crease and made two more creases to create a flap for the front of the book. I then added a little latch and wholla!!! Don't you just love this little book.......I have to fill up the pages with pictures ASAP!!! Hope you all like what I've done. Love comments!!!

Altered TP Rolls

This is one of my latest projects from the GSP DT. We had to create an altered items using a "Winter Wonderland" theme. The paper is from DCWV paper stack 08'. I used the 3D (made is 2D) Christmas tree from the WW cart. I'll have to add my snow pictures if we get any here in GA this year....if not I guess I'll send it to my sister in VA!

"Raider Nation"

I had so much fun creating this layout. This is my oldest son and the first football game of the season.....I love football! I tried to make sure that I kept this one all boy. Techniques used: Fold out mini album(pictures are on all sides of the fold out 7 total) , hidden journaling, distressing, crackle paint, rub-ons and the title was created in CDS. Hope you all like it.

These are some halloween tags that I made for a challenge. I finally got all the new MS Punches and boy they are sooo cute! I used the "Boo" Drippy Goo"and "Spider Wed" punches. Other items were from PD cart, Studio G wood and clear stamps.....love those dollar bins at M's :0). Enjoy.

This is a card that I made for the "Sistas Blog" weekly challenge using the heat embossing technique. I've used colored pigment ink and an opaque embossing powder so that the pigment ink shows through. This is a really neat effect and if you can't find a particular color embossing powder you can use this technique. Have Fun.

Here's what I will be sending my mom for Mother's Day. This is the decoupage technique that I saw on the Cricut MB and knew at first site that I wanted to do one for my mom. It's one image that has been layered to create a 3D image. There are tons of images on the web for this technique. My next one will be a rose, so check back soon!

It's Just Grape Juice

This is the DD New Year's Eve at a family get together. This is the first time that I used the pink and black combination, got the inspiration from her shirt. I was walking through Michael's the other day and stumbled on the little favor tins in the wedding department. The are the same size as the tins that you find that they sell for way too much in the scrapbooking area by MM. Well guess what you can get 30 for $19.99 and if you use a coupon is will be even less! Pop your embellies in and stick them to a magnetic board! Just a little tip for the frugal scrapper.

Have you seen the new DCWV Stacks? Well I got mine today and after looking through them all the front cover caught my eye.....they are just as pretty as the paper so I thought I have to do something with those. I recently discover the world of Inchies (1"x1" little squares), so I sat down and took the front cover of the LA CREME Stack and cut it into these little squares and created this card. How neat and green is that. Try it out I'm sure you will fall in love.

Azari's Word Book

This is a word book that I did for my Great-niece she was born 3 months premature but by God's Grace and Healing hands she is doing great! Her name is Azari and I hope she cherish this book when she gets older.

I've done a lot of techniques in this one ex. the tag was made using the clear packaging from some of my scrapping supplies.....so don't throw them out.

I've add lots of spaces where my niece can put pictures or journaling. The top flap is another clear packaging scrap that I used acrylic paint and my favorite white pen for the doodling.

Here I've used once again my clear scraps and ran it through the cuttlebug to emboss and added some acrylic paint to give it some definition and the tag slips right behind it!

Here's a close up of the embossing and the tag all in place.

This page actually has six mats for pictures. I've added a few embellies but still have to finish this one up.

Here' s the other flaps 4 are pictured and 2 are on the bottom for a total of 6 mats! I have one more page in the book to finish but I wanted to share because I just thought it is turning out so pretty.

This is a closeup of the flowers that I put on this page they were made by adding a quick stitch to a piece of ribbon and then pulled to make a ruffle at this point you can stitch the ends together. Add a brad and walah!

Here's a layout that I did of my DD Sabrina in here Grannie's kitchen sink. She looks like she's posing for a magazine cover. I did a lot of layering on this page and also some doodling. Added flowers and swirls using the Home Accent cricut cartridge.

"Thinking"

This is a layout of my son deep in thought. Here are the steps

First choose coordinating colored papers, use Tim Holtz mask along with distress inks (I used pine needles and broken china).
Cut title using the cricut expression.
Mat your photo, use a few circle punch outs add some stiches and a lovely feather.

I'm just starting this but soon I will be adding a lot more layouts.
